I am currently . . . . . . at home in Bergen, looking forward to the start of a new job as a Project Manager at Technocean on Monday 2nd August. My lady-of-leisure lifestyle is coming to an end!

Other News:
A new addition to the family has arrived. On May 18th 2010 Anika made her first motorised two-wheeled purchase; a Piaggio Vespa ET4. Congratulations and welcome . . . . . . . Betsy!
Yamaha XT660R
Given its minimal demeanour the Yamaha XT660R doesn’t float everyone’s boat. However, I simply cannot fault it for reliability, value-for-money and grin-factor, all-round riding. Billed as a dual-purpose motorcycle it’ll come as little surprise to hear that it rides equally as well in the dirt as it does on the tarmac. No matter what you do to this bike it will always get you where you want to go. I can comfortably quantify this statement given my experience on TransAmericas/4monthsfree where Matt and I rode our XTs through sand, dust, mud and gravel on an almost daily basis. I put this bike through hell and yet it delivered the goods with little or no complaints. For 111 days straight it covered 31652 kms. In fact its only flaws were the modifications I made to it prior to departure combined with my blatant inability to ride her properly!
Black Yammy - as my particular model is now affectionately known - resides with me at home and will always be the bike of choice for long-distance adventure motorcycling action where tarmac is at a premium. Who needs a BMW 1200GS when the XT660R will do everything and more at a fraction of the price?
